Motion Plymouth Identity and Promotional Material

Motion Plymouth is an exciting new Moving Image Festival for the City of Plymouth. Dot Design were asked to work on the identity for the festival as well as supporting promotional material. One of the many events planned for the festival were projections of moving images on to some of the key buildings within the city.

Our identity design suggests projection of light and a gradient of light to dark, communicating moving image but in a clean, contemporary way. The supporting brochure featured similar shaped units to contain quotes and highlighted text, colours used were bold with the support of light and dark blue taken from the logo.

The image of the statue of Sir Francis Drake (an important part of Plymouth history) was discussed between the client (Motion Grafik) and Dot Design and adapted to be wearing 3D glasses as a tongue in cheek connection between the history of the city and this new exciting event.
